El esloveno del UAE Team Emirates revalidó su título en Il Lombardía y mantuvo los puntos UCI obtenidos el año pasado en el último monumento de la temporada. De esta manera, Tadej Pogacar cerrará la temporada como el mejor del 2022, con 5131 puntos acumulados. Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) y Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) completan el podio.
El 4° lugar quedó para el campeón del Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma). El danés tuvo una buena campaña, aunque a casi 2000 puntos del esloveno. Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-hansgrohe), el neo-profesional Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Soudal), Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ), Alexander Kristoff (Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert), Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) y Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team) completan el top 10.
