USA Pro Challenge 2014 – Stage 6 Preview

Stage 5 Recap
All the big teams(except from BMC) put riders into the break, so it was always going to be successful. Garmin had Acevedo and King, but they couldn’t stop Laurent Didier taking the stage. The Luxembourg rider likes bad weather and took full advantage of the conditions. Back in the peloton, Van Garderen took a few more seconds, on his rivals.
Stage 6 Vail ITT 16.1km
This is a stage the fans and riders know well. Always included in the race, it will see the GC settled, once and for all. Last year, Van Garderen took the victory, beating Talansky by 4 seconds. He put over 1 minute into Tom Danielson.
This year, there is no challenge to the time trial ability of Tejay Van Garderen. The American, will take the stage with ease and the overall title. The only question is, who makes the podium?
Majka and Tvetcov are currently second and third on GC, but the presence of Danielson, looms large. Tommy D is a better TT rider than the other two and could force himself onto the podium.
Personally, I love to see Tvetcov hold onto his podium spot, after a tremendous race.
Prediction time…
Tejay Van Garderen, easy!
